Cryptofilter is aggregating the best news & info for newbies and OG's alike. Surfacing the signal in a sea of noise.
Keeping up with what's going on in crypto, blockchain, defi, DAOs and web3 is time-consuming. If you're new to the space it's even more challenging -- you may not even know where to begin. Timely, valuable information is spread out in various newsletters, websites, blogs, chat apps and Twitter. Newsletter fatigue is real. Scammy, low-information content abounds.
Cryptofilter is an experiment in new community formats for authorship and curation.
We have an open API for our curated news headlines that anyone can use. You can find it here:
The points system for Curators and Authors can be tracked on the Leaderboard.
Authors earn points when Curators post links to their news stories or other information sources. The Author is mostly credited as whatever person or entity is credited in the "author" meta tag for that page url (some exceptions apply -- instructions for Authors and Publications is here).
Curators earn points for posting links to news stories and other editorial activities. These links are displayed on the homepage. But this isn't just crowd-sourced news. Curators are vetted for industry experience. They might be journalists, operators or developers in the space.
If you're interested in becoming a Curator, all you need to get started is a Metamask wallet address that you don't mind sharing publicly (there are no fees for being a curator & all interactions are gasless and happen off-chain). Fill out the application on this page and we'll get back to you.
If there's interest and it motivates more people to get involved, we can turn the points into an ERC-20 and put it on the blockchain. These contributors could eventually become a DAO that governs itself.
